Performance Solution

Official Performance Solution & Compliance Hub

This page provides the official documentation and verification required to satisfy regulatory compliance when using the FastBend and FastBend DT in place of traditional concrete support.

Official Compliance Documentation

The DN100 FastBend and FastBend DT are engineered to meet the performance requirements of the National Construction Code (NCC) Volume Three – Plumbing Code of Australia (PCA).

By using the documentation provided below, licensed plumbers can demonstrate that FastBend products provide a level of stability and protection equivalent to the concrete pad requirements specified in AS/NZS 3500.2.

Why FastBend is a Valid Performance Solution

Traditional standards require concrete pads under vertical risers and gully traps to provide support and protect against movement. The FastBend Performance Solution verifies that our proprietary design achieves these goals through engineering, not extra concrete:

  • Verified Strength: Tested at a NATA-accredited laboratory, FastBend exceeded compressive pressure and impact requirements of 20MPa—the equivalent strength required for premixed concrete.
  • Engineered Stability: The proprietary 200mm square grid base locks into the bedding material, stabilising the fitting in upward, downward, and lateral positions.
  • One-Piece Construction: Unlike concrete, which can fail to adhere to smooth PVC, the FastBend grid is a single integrated unit that cannot be separated from the bend.
  • Certification: The FastBend range is WaterMarked (License No. WMK26376) and complies with the material requirements of AS/NZS 1260.

Environmental & Site Benefits

Eliminating concrete from the drainage process offers significant advantages for your project and the planet:

  • Reduced CO2 Emissions: Removes the carbon footprint associated with manufacturing and transporting concrete.
  • Zero Waste: Eliminates the plastic waste and environmental hazards associated with premixed concrete packaging and dust.
  • Precision Installation: Foolproof installation ensures consistent quality, avoiding the sub-standard or non-compliant work practices often seen with manual concrete placement.
